Hi All,
I'm wanting to give my 'special' friend a nice relaxing bubblebath as part of his birthday celebrations in late July.
I'm looking for other ideas besides candles and of course bubbles. Please try very hard not to recommend specific stores for shopping as I live in Australia. I can get to 'LUSH' and 'Evelyn & Crabtree' and I have a 'Body Shop' locally.
I haven't decided whether to buy or make bathbombs yet.
Thanks for any ideas.
Wendy

Fri, September 1, 2006 - 10:50 AMWhats a bathbomb? :) lol sounds alcoholic.... I know this post is old, but.. alcohol and bubble baths sound great together- I say, make it a Caramel Liqeur on ice, its velvety smooth... oH Yeahhhhh and maybe throw on the album "Silk'N'Brass" by Jackie Gleason and his Orchestra... OR alternatively, martinis and Sinatra? :D
Kahlua and Yma Sumac?
Ok so what's a bathbomb?!! -

Re: Bathbombs
Sat, September 2, 2006 - 4:21 AMHi John
A bathbomb is compacted bicarb soda, citric acid, esential oil, food colouring and almond oil. All ingrediants are combined in a specific order. Mixture is then packed/pressed into a mold. Then invert the mold onto a tray and allowed to dry out.
Run your bath as normal, get comfortable and with a dry hand add a 'bomb' it will fizz. When placed strategically the fizzing can give a wonderful alternative massage.
If you'd like a recipe to experiment with - different colours, fragrances, shapes etc let me know and I'll post it here.
THey also make great gifts and easy for children to make.
Wendy
PS Never too late to have ideas for next year. -

Re: Bathbombs
Sun, September 3, 2006 - 6:12 PMYou can also conveniently but them at any Lush store where they offer a variety of scents. The one I got was lime green with a little pink flower and it was supposed to be Jasmine. The fizzing was cool but I didn't particularly remember the scent being very strong and the bummer about the bomb was that it left this green film around the edge of the tub which I of course had to clean up. That was the bummer part, especially when your all relaxed from having taken a really wonderful bath. So that's my two cents on what a bath bomb is.

Re: Birthday Bubblebath
Sat, September 30, 2006 - 10:06 PMBathbombs are super-concentrated balls of bath bubbles, salts or lots of other good smelling stuff that's fun to watch "explode" as they dissolve in the tub. I like to get the kind that releases tiny rose petals, they smell wonderful and look really pretty.
Hint: if you get a bath bomb that has stuff like petals or seaweed and don't like to pick stuff out of your drain after bathing, put the bomb into a nylon kneesock and tie shut before dropping it into the tub! -

Re: Birthday Bubblebath
Sat, September 30, 2006 - 10:22 PMHold the bomb in your hand while it's, er, bombing. Or, put it somewhere else. Whatever. Anyway, they're fun.
